In 1981, Victorinox was established in Ibach, Switzerland, by the Swiss Army Knife inventor, Karl Elsener. He used his mother’s name, Victoria, and the last four letters of the French word, inoxydable (Victor inox) for the name of his company. Inoxydable is the French word for stainless steel. The cross and shield of the Swiss military and his mother’s name became his trademark. Their entire luggage carries this symbol. The vertical handle is a curved monopole that features a patented, 360-degree swivel handle with Geluxe Comfort Grip and ergonomic thumb print. It is made to reduce arm and wrist stress. The top and side handles are made with a specialized rubber, plus steel bands for reinforcement. The in-line skate wheels have stainless steel axles and ball bearings for stability and smooth rolling. YKK Racquet Coil zippers are used to ensure superior strength and smooth zipper operation.
The primary storage space comes with hanging mesh and special straps to hold items in place. A zippered pocket is included that accommodates small accessories.
